Masama Coal Project - Environmental Impact Assessment Study for the Proposed Open Pit Coal Mine

The aim of the proposed mine is to abstract shallow coal by means of an open cast mining method and to beneficiate the coal to export quality standard so that it can be consumed by both the local and regional markets.The coal resource allows for greater than a 20-year open cast life of mine.

Royal Haskoning DHV has been appointed by Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC), on behalf of the Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA), to prepare an Urban Design and Landscape Design Masterplan for the Sir Seretse Khama International Airport Special Economic Zone (SSKIA-SEZ).In line with the Environmental Assessment (EA) Act (2011), SSI has commissioned Ecosurv Environmental Consultants to undertake a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) study for the Sir Seretse Khama Special Economic Zone Master Plan.
